Great spot to get screeched in. Best experience by far. $40 to be screeched includes certificate and rum shot. Overall great bar and friendly atmosphere and people. Make sure to kiss the cod. Book online as to ensure you get a spot. Screeching starts at 5 till 1am. Beer was great and delightful.

I heard this was the place to get Screeched in St. John’s and it definitely didn’t disappoint!! The pub closes for the hour and only hosts those getting screeched in, it’s a fully immersive experience. Skipper Lukey is AMAZING and incredibly funny. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip, an amazing time!!

Yes, we had to go get screeched in! We weren't going to. But we decided we were in St. John's, and it was now and ever. We're glad we did! It can be small, and a bit crowded. But the atmosphere is lively and friendly. Getting screeched in was actually a lot more fun than I expected it to be. Our friends weren't there the night before, and they recommended it. Sure, it's a little touristy. But it's an experience!

Went the to get Screeched. Was a great experience Luke was a great host and was very entertaining! Would definitely recommend. We did it on our first night in Newfoundland and it was an amazing way to start off our holiday!!

Not enough good words to say about this place - a proper tavern run by an experienced barman and his witty, cantankerous, capable staff in this party district in a beautiful historic city. The screech-in ceremony is unquestionably a tourist rite of passage, but Skipper Lukey does a magnificent job with it; a performance within itself. He’s funny, plays it totally straight, pays tribute/homage to the island, and can be unexpectedly poignant at times. If you’re lucky enough to see a one-off screech on a quiet Monday in the slow season, the experience is well worth the reasonable price of admission; as well as it would be during the height of the summer rush, just a different vibe. You will exit this pub feeling like a real Newfoundlander, replete with hand-inscribed certificate, (after a few stiff drinks if you do it right), and he remembers everyone’s name during the ceremony, a very cool personal touch. They say Christian’s does the best screech in town and it lives up to the billing. Hell yeah.

This pub is an awesome venue lace to go in St. Johns! My co-workers got me to go down here and get screeched in before I moved away and it was one of the most fun and unique experiences you can do while visiting. I would recommend checking the place out to anyone visiting the area!!

Lovely pub where we did our screeching in. They have reservations and do alcohol or non-alcoholic ceremonies. The bartender was a great storyteller. We had a little bologna as a start, then the kissing of the cod and a shot of screech rum. Lots of fun. Very accommodating for photos. Super friendly and received a certificate. They do a great show!!
